Position Title: Accountant
Salary Range: $60,406-65,500

JOB SUMMARY:
The accountant position’s main focus is to contribute to the Agency’s billing process to ensure accuracy and timeliness and to support the reporting required (both internal & external). All tasks are completed following generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) with a solid understanding of federal, state, and contractual regulations.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILTIES:
Responsible as a key team member in the Agency’s billing program to ensure accuracy/ timeliness including maintaining required internal and external collection of data/ documentation
As directed, generates/ maintains/ presents required reports
Assures application of not-for-profit accounting practices and procedures
Assists team with budget questions, proper expenditure coding, and other accounting-related activities
Records receipts and prepares deposits when required
Supports the timely closing of the books including the processing of journal entries and reconciliation of GL accounts
Supports the preparation of annual budgets and preparing for external audit
Maintains Finance Department’s filing system
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with major coursework in accounting, finance, economics
Four year’s general funding accounting experience
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Not-for-profit experience highly desired.
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and experience with accounting software.
Detail oriented, able to interact with all levels of the organization to obtain required information, quick learner, strong organization skills, and able to meet deadlines.
Ability to maintain positive attitude and approach towards assignments.

Performing the duties of this job requires frequent walking and standing in and around the office.
