Job Description

Our law firm is looking for a part-time associate attorney to assist in providing legal counsel to clients in our probate and trust administration department. You will work closely with senior attorneys and paralegals/legal assistants in all aspects of estate and trust administration. You will manage client files, conduct legal research, draft documents, appear in court as necessary, and more. If you have at least 1 year of experience practicing law in North Carolina, excellent fact-finding, communication, and time management skills, we want to hear from you! This is a part-time, in person position. Specific number of hours to be worked and the potential for remote work can be discussed during interview process. Compensation will be based on experience. Responsibilities:

• Organize and maintain files to ensure accuracy for other attorneys, paralegals, and staff
• Assist clients in determining a proper solution to legal conflicts and determine the best course of action
• Create legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, AOC forms, and settlement agreements
• Collaborate with clients, senior attorneys, and other team members to move cases toward resolution efficiently
• Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings and perform legal research

Qualifications:

• Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base
• Has a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school
• Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients
• Passed the NC Bar Exam and currently eligible to practice law in the state of North Carolina
