The Dairy Alliance is a non-profit funded by dairy farm families of the Southeast. We work diligently with dairy farmers, schools, sports teams, health professionals, local organizations, state leaders, the media, and the public to promote dairy foods and knowledge about the dairy industry. Our efforts center in eight states: Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

Position Summary:

The Dairy Alliance is seeking a Business Analyst to join our Consumer & Market Intelligence team. This role supports the Director of Strategic Growth and overall strategic planning by analyzing consumer behavior, market trends, syndicated data, and demographic insights to build compelling business cases that drive dairy volume.

This position plays a critical role in delivering high-impact, insight-based recommendations that inform innovation, marketing, and business development strategies. The analyst will synthesize multiple data sources—particularly Circana POS and panel data—to uncover the “why behind the what,” helping internal and external partners make data-driven decisions.

This is a highly collaborative role that also requires strong independence, curiosity, and a proactive mindset. The analyst must thrive in a fast-paced environment, be eager to learn, and have a deep sense of ownership for the value insights can deliver to stakeholders.

The role also encompasses overseeing and managing activities that support and fulfill the organization's mission: Everything we do is market-focused and proactively promotes and protects the interests of the Southeast dairy farm families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain linked Excel files with protected cells to ensure data integrity and streamlined updates
  • Generate and distribute monthly and quarterly Circana reports to the VP of Strategic Marketing and Executive Leadership Team (ELT)
  • Translate complex data sets into visually compelling, insight-driven PowerPoint presentations
  • Leverage U.S. Census and other secondary data to support regional, consumer, and category insights
  • Support custom research design, analysis, and presentation to drive strategic priorities
  • Collaborate across departments to understand business needs and deliver actionable recommendations
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and timeliness across all reporting
  • Submit reports and deliverables in a timely manner for supervisor review
  • Support preparation of materials for Board of Director meetings on behalf of VP of Strategic Marketing and/or CEO
  • Champion The Dairy Alliance culture and demonstrate its core values in daily work and interactions
  • Responsible for analyzing food trends and developing case studies for industry presentations
  • Work cross-functionally to understand business needs and deliver data-driven recommendations
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in all reporting and deliverables
  • Submits timely reports to supervisor for approvals.
  • Models behavior that supports The Dairy Alliance culture and advocates for cultural commitments
  • Supports the Vice President of Strategic Marketing and or CEO in Board of Director meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced Excel expertise, including formulas, linked files, data cleaning, and cell protection
  • Proficient in PowerPoint with strong data storytelling and visualization skills
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Strong desire to learn, grow, and master tools and techniques
  • Comfortable with deep data exploration (e.g., Census data, Circana POS and panel datasets)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and virtual meeting platforms (Teams, Zoom)
  • Adapts well to change, manages competing demands, and takes ownership of outcomes
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. routinely and up to 25 lbs. occasionally for materials at events
  • Willingness to attend tradeshows and events, with the ability to be active on-site for up to 4 hours (walking, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, etc.)

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, or related field
