AIRPORT DRAYAGE COMPANY IS GEARING-UP TO DRAMATICALLY GROW OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL YEARS!

Airport Drayage Company Inc., (ADC) is a local airfreight pickup, transport, and delivery-company with a presence in the Pacific Northwest since 1959. Family owned and operated, ADC currently operating with approx. 60 employees, 50 Tractors/Straight trucks (NEWER AND WELL MAINTAINED VEHICLES!) with terminals in Portland, OR (Hq.); Salem, OR; and Tumwater, WA.

Transporting general freight via containers and/or 53’ dry vans for dedicated customers. Work is predominantly container dray but could also consist of LTL dry van routes as well.

Shift: Starting time: 6:00 AM (may vary by an hour or two due to appointment times), Monday thru Friday. RETURN HOME DAILY possible weekend work if available

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Determines condition of vehicle by performing thorough pre and post trips on truck, container/trailer, and/or chassis.
  • Ensures correct loading of vehicle whether that be a container on a chassis or by loading product or material into a 53’ trailer.
  • Pick up containers from the Ports of Seattle, Tacoma, Portland, Longview and deliver them to various customers throughout Oregon and Washington.
  • Maintains safe vehicle operation and protects load by complying with organizational polices and procedure, highway rules and regulations.
  • Submits electronic and paper records daily by conscientious operation of Electronic Logging Device (ELD) and Electronic DVIR, obtaining shipper and receiver authorizations and managing/notation other related notes on daily logs and BOLs.
  • Supports and contributes to the company’s overall safety program.
  • Continually strives and is committed to self-improvement as a transportation professional.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing individual results as assigned and assisting co-workers as necessary.
  • Communicate with dispatch in a concise manner using company provided cell phone.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Container experience required
  • Must be 23 years or older
  • Must have a valid Class A CDL
  • Must have a current TWIC Card
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug tests and DOT physical
  • Dependable and deadline oriented (while maintaining the idea of safety first)
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and move boxes up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to load/unload freight using a pallet jack or hand truck
  • Climb in and out of a vehicle and walk up and down stairs as required in all weather conditions
  • Ability to sit or stand for multiple hours per day and work in a physically demanding environment
  • General knowledge of Oregon and Washington
  • Knowledge of Pacific NW ports and rail yards
  • Physical Ability to Utilize Hand-trucks and Pallet-jacks
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English
