Imagine creating a digital platform that unites the casual fan with the most dedicated spectator, both experiencing thrilling live events from around the world with interactive features, real time analytics, powerful broadcast technology, and more. We have successfully revolutionized the global sports media industry- the result of creating a diverse team of technologists and die-hard wrestlers, creators and devoted cheerleading experts, designers and hockey enthusiasts, communicators and motorsport fanatics, producers and casual sports fans… united by a shared passion to delight the underrepresented communities we serve. We are creating the essential destination for our sports and we’re looking for people like you to help us!

THE ROLE:

FloSports is looking to bring on a Content Creator / Associate Content Creator (title and role dependent on experience) for FloTrack who is dedicated to our mission of providing the track and field / elite running community the coverage they deserve. The ideal candidate lives and breathes track and field / elite running, has professional or extensive personal content creation experience, and is able to bring their innovative and impactful story ideas to life through written and video content with a heavy emphasis on social media and platform-specific content.

Candidates must be passionate about and have existing influence within the track and field / elite running communities, have a nose for compelling storylines, and understand how to grow your voice as an authority in these communities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create compelling, platform-specific content—video, graphics, and written—that resonates with the target audience and maximizes engagement.

  • Spotlight the top athletes, personalities and trends in track and field / elite running with interesting stories.

  • Contribute to management of FloTrack’s social media content calendar.

  • Travel the world to lead amazing coverage of live events; conducting interviews, chasing big stories and giving fans a front-row seat to the action.

  • Work with your team in content creation meetings, brainstorming to come up with strategies that grow and engage the community.

  • Keep a pulse on the fans and key figures in track and field / elite running in order to constantly improve by eliciting and listening to feedback from your audience.

  • Handle multiple content projects at once because you're a multi-tasking machine that can be relied on.

  • Be a news hound by staying on top of every story and news item unfolding in track and field to ensure you provide comprehensive coverage to your readers.

  • Support MileSplit’s high school-focused national content on ad hoc basis

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • You are an authority on track and field / elite running, and you’re obsessive about staying on top of the latest developments.

  • You enjoy being in front of the camera and using your unique personality to build relationships with athletes, coaches, fans, and other stakeholders in the community.

  • You produce authentic and accurate copy that compels people to engage with your content. Grammar mistakes drive you crazy.

  • You love the feeling of breaking news before anyone else, but you also understand that being right is more important than being first.

  • You are organized. You know how to prioritize your time. You manage multiple projects with ease.

  • You are creative and analytical. You enjoy coming up with unique takes on stories and refuse to do something that has been done before. You thrive on taking an idea and making it a reality.

  • You're a social media savant with a strong understanding of major social media platforms, their unique features, and best practices for content distribution. You know how to develop creative and engaging social content that resonates in your community.

  • You have a proven track record of creating engaging social media content and growing audience engagement.

  • You work well with management, but you’re also capable of doing stuff on your own.

  • You wake up each day looking for a win. You can't wait to create new ideas and then execute them to perfection. You are competitive and driven to be the best.

BONUS POINTS

  • You have relationships with key stakeholders in the industry, i.e. athletes, coaches, agents, event directors, shoe companies.

  • Candidate is prepared to share a portfolio and samples outlining accomplishments.

  • You have a bachelor's degree from a four-year college in a related field.
