Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Truck Dispatcher to join our team. As a Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our fleet. You will be responsible for coordinating driver schedules, optimizing routes, managing communication, and providing exceptional support to our drivers. This is a fast-paced environment that requires excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and the ability to thrive under pressure.

Responsibilities:

• Dispatch drivers to pick up and deliver freight, optimizing routes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor driver hours of service (HOS) and ensure compliance with all DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with drivers, providing clear instructions, updates, and support.
• Track shipments and provide real-time updates to customers. Proactively identify and resolve potential delays or issues.
• Manage breakdowns and other emergencies, coordinating repairs and alternative transportation as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatches, driver activity, and equipment status. Build and maintain strong relationships with drivers, customers, and other team members.
• Utilize dispatch software and other technology to manage operations efficiently.
• Negotiate rates with brokers and customers (if applicable).
• Handle any other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Truck Dispatcher, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, including HOS rules.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Proficiency in dispatch software and other relevant technology.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent; further education is a plus.
