This position is responsible for maintaining and operating CNC equipment while producing parts to satisfy quality standards and production schedules. Support leads and management in their methods of making improvements.
This is an in-house Machine shop servicing in-house departments as well as external company locations.
Here's What You'll Get To Do
Use AutoCAD to produce part drawings for die sets
Help design new units for production fabrication
Design modifications on older equipment for in-house use
Update drawings for older machines for future reference
Program EDM to cut parts as needed
Performs dimensional inspection of product as required
Monitors and changes cutting tools (inserts) as needed
Load and unload products
Aware at all times of the correct orientation of the product being placed in the machinery
Enters commands to title and store programs in computer memory and build and maintain source files
Adjust feed rate and speed, utilizing knowledge of numerical-control machine operation
Enters computer commands to retrieve stored parts data and programs
Modify programs on the plant floor
Reviews shop orders and drawings to determine job specifications and requirements.
Perform any additional duties that are assigned by the Manager/Supervisor
Inspect finished parts for quality
Ability to reasonably apply knowledge of the job with little supervision
What We're Looking For
Knowledge and skill set to set-up and run CNC equipment
Working knowledge of FeatureCam and Autodesk
Microsoft Office and other computer skills including AutoCAD
Working knowledge of G code programming
Ability to program HAAS CNC
Capability to perform PM maintenance on EDM
Ability to maintain replacement of consumable parts on EDM
Aptitude to design modifications on older equipment for in-house use
Skill to program EDM to cut parts as needed
Ability to organize, and prioritize work assignments to ensure efficient operations of CNC machining environment
Clear and concise verbal and written communication
Capability to generate part programs that meet production objectives for optimum cost, quality, speed, throughput, and on-time customer deliveries
Mathematical Skills - addition, subtraction, multiplication & division
Capacity to understand and work from written instructions, operations sheets, drawings, sketches
Flexibility to adapt to constant change
Qualified candidates should be able to work Mon-Fri, with some periods of required overtime on short notice
Regular and predictable attendance, safely performed tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of this job

Physical Requirements
Must be able to constantly bend, squat, reach, lift, and push.
Ability to push/pull/lift/carry 10-50 lbs constantly, 51-75 lbs occasionally.
Stand and walk for an entire shift on concrete, up to 12 hours.
Grasp, squeeze, hold/handle thin to thick metal, small & large items, small and large boxes.
Visual acuity to inspect product for various quality flaws and to ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
Proper wear of all required Personal Protective Equipment.
Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with the same climate conditions of the region (Heat, humidity, etc.)
