At Belamour, we are a small senior care company located in the Vancouver, WA, area. We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team.
We are looking for someone who is CNA certified and enjoys working with folks in their final chapters of life! We believe that when people reach a stage in their lives that requires an extensive amount of care, it can be quite stressful for the family to continue providing a quality level of care. We want to be the place that allows families to become families again by removing that stress and putting their loved ones in a place they can trust.
Who are We?
Belamour Care has 6 locations (5 Adult Family Homes and 1 Assisted Living Facility) and over 50 employees. Come join our team in allowing families to become family again.
As a CNA, you will be working in one of the homes either by yourself or with another CNA, depending on the size of the home you’re at.
What type of person are we looking for?
· A Caretaker! If you’re a CNA, you know what this means: providing direct patient care for our residents.
· A great listener: Our residents have stories to tell, and many of them love sharing their life experiences and stories.
· You can cook! While you don’t need to be a pro, you’ll be preparing meals for the residents in your home.
· Not afraid of a challenge. As you may know, each patient is different and presents different challenges, so be ready to take them on!
· You can have fun with the residents. We’re serious about this one; we want you to be the person who can make the house feel homey and help the residents have fun. We want you to be the person you would like to put your parents with.
· You’re a True Go-Getter. What we mean is we don’t want a person who gets the main work done and then wants to sit on the couch. Play with the residents, make a dessert, or help with additional clean up!
What would you be doing?
· Direct Patient Care: You know what this is: bathing, dressing, feeding, assisting, and more.
· Monitor Vital Signs: Keeping the residents safe!
· Mobility Assistance: Helping the residents get around. Most of the residents don’t want to sit around all day, so they need your help!
· Documentation: This is very important to keep everything organized and compliant.
· Companionship: Be a friend! For real. Would you want to be in a home with a caregiver that was cold and distant? Don’t tell this be you.
· Safety: The top priority, of course!
· Communication: Yeah, yeah, everyone says this. But it is critical for resident safety. This means keeping in touch with the RN, RCC, or other staff.
· Hygiene: We call this Brushed and Buffed! Let’s keep the residents feeling clean and fresh.
What requirements are we looking for?
· First, we’re looking for a CNA or HCA certified. For the right fit we will consider helping with the certification.
· Also, you must be authorized to work in the United States (legal reasons, right!)
· Sorry, no 1099’s. We are only hiring full-time employees.
· Must be able to speak English. If you can’t, communication becomes difficult of course.
Why would you like this position?
· Our residents are very special. You’ll find it very fulfilling to be a part of their lives.
· It can be fun if you make it! If you can befriend the residents, play games, and tell jokes, it can be a fun way to spend your days.
· It's a great place to start your medical career. If you’re interested in nursing or other medical professions, you can gain valuable experience working directly with patients.
· If you’re looking for a smaller family feel company, that’s us!
Why might you not like this position?
· Some might find CNA work rather gross. We won’t get too graphic, but you will be helping people shower and change their briefs.
· The residents can be cranky with you at times. While we speak highly of our residents, everyone has their bad days. You’ll be there through the good and the bad!
· You’re going to be busy. You’ll be looking after multiple residents at once, so don’t expect an easy street here. If that’s what you’re looking for, please don’t apply!
What does it pay?
We plan to pay $19.00 - $24.00 per hour to start, but let’s chat about it!
When we interview, what are we going to be looking for?
Depending on how our conversations go, we will be specific about our questions. The first conversation will be over the phone, and the following interviews will typically be in person. Here is the jist of what we will be looking for:
