Position Overview: The Housing Navigator will assist individuals and families in securing permanent, affordable housing. This includes helping clients understand their housing options, completing necessary paperwork, and ensuring they have access to resources that promote long-term housing stability. The Housing Navigator will work closely with clients to identify their specific housing needs, connect them with appropriate housing resources, and guide them through the application and relocation processes. Key Responsibilities: Client Assessment & Support: Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand clients' housing needs and preferences. Help clients access housing programs, including affordable housing and housing voucher programs. Provide ongoing support to clients throughout their housing search process. Housing Search & Placement: Identify available housing opportunities and connect clients with appropriate options based on their eligibility. Assist clients in navigating applications for rental housing, subsidies, and government assistance programs. Coordinate with landlords, property managers, and housing providers to secure housing placements for clients. Resource Coordination: Connect clients with additional services such as financial assistance, case management, job training, or mental health resources as needed. Provide clients with information about tenant rights, responsibilities, and lease agreements. Assist clients in understanding their rights under the Fair Housing Act. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of client interactions and housing placements. Complete required paperwork and reports for internal use and compliance with funding sources. Track client progress and provide reports to supervisors as needed. Collaboration & Outreach: Build and maintain relationships with local housing providers, landlords, and community agencies. Work collaboratively with the broader case management team to ensure clients receive comprehensive support. Advocacy & Education: Advocate for clients during the housing application process and address any challenges that arise.
