The Role

Lumen offers a fully immersive, 10-week summer internship program. Our interns demonstrate curiosity, innovation, and a passion for advancing technology. Program dates: May 30 – August 8, 2025.

  • This position is will ideally be hybrid in our Broomfield, CO office. May be open to remote work for the right candidate.

The Main Responsibilities

Lumen’s Enterprise Operations organization is seeking 2 Data Analyst Interns to support our Network and Finance Groups.

Data Analyst Intern - Network 

The Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, processing, and performing statistical analyses on large datasets. The role involves converting raw data into actionable insights and delivering comprehensive reports that drive strategic business decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Interpreting data, analyzing results, and using statistical techniques to provide ongoing reports.
  • Developing and implementing data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
  • Identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Collaborating with other departments to understand their data needs and provide relevant data-driven insights.
  • Creating and maintaining dashboards and reports using tools such as PowerBi to track performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Ensuring data integrity and accuracy by performing regular audits and quality checks.


Data Analyst Intern – Financial

The Data Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the financial management team by analyzing, interpreting, and presenting financial data. The position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and proficiency in data visualization tools, particularly PowerBi. The Data Analyst will collaborate with senior analysts and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and insightful financial reporting and performance analysis.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop data sets and enhance PowerBi reports to illustrate financial performance metrics.
  • Assist in capital forecasting and budget management and data collection.
  • Prepare business administrative presentation materials to support financial decision-making.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Program eligibility is contingent on the candidate’s commitment of the entire 10-week program. No exceptions will be made.

  • Required qualifications
    • Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior level education status at the start of the internship
    • Graduating August 2025 – May 2027
    • Preferred fields include bur not limited to: Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics or other related field
    • Intern must be able to work 40 hours per week during the 10-week program (May 30 – August 8, 2025)
    • US work authorization is required
  • Proficiency and understanding of:
    • Microsoft Office Suites
      • Emphasis in excel knowledge
    • SQL
    • Power BI
    • Data Analytics experience
    • Data Cleansing
    • Statistical knowledge
    • Reporting knowledge/experience
    • Dashboard experience is a plus
  • Professional Attributes
    • Strong drive for results and taking initiative
    • Ability to be resourceful, independent, and adaptable
    • Understand importance of preparation

Compensation

Internship compensation ranges depend on each individual’s level of education, geographic location, and experience/qualifications aligned to the role.

 

Hourly Based Pay Range:
Min: $26.00/hour
Max: $43.00/hour

What to Expect Next
