Closing date: June 11th, 2025, at 9:00PM (PST) Position: Manager Department: Parks, Arts, Recreation and Community Services Division: Arts & Museums Annual Salary Range: $126,300.46 - $161,194.80 FSLA: Exempt EEO Category: 1.2 First/Mid-Level Officials and Managers General Summary: Provides highly responsible management support in the planning, analysis, coordination, and conduct of operating programs and activities; supervises assigned staff; and performs administrative studies and special projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Develop programming direction that supports the Missions of four unique museum brands and the City of Lancasters public art program. Develop an annual cohesive exhibitions schedule that includes educational, engagement, and marketing plans, considering rental and outside events. Meet with artists, writers, guest curators, and other contributors to curate exhibitions, books, tours, workshops, and engagement opportunities. Update and maintain professional museum standards and practices through SOPs and division guidelines. Recommend artists for the public art program. Supervise staff and volunteers executing programming, fostering an organizational culture of effective management and inspiration. Conduct monthly staff meetings by departments. Maintain sound financial practices and manage four museums within the approved budget and funding sources. Create and track budgets and expenditures for each project. Identify grants and other funding opportunities. Write grants supporting museum missions and strategic plans. Lead the implementation of the Citys Public Art Master Plan, maintaining relationships with arts organizations, government offices, and arts councils. Assist in planning, organizing, and managing the City Public Art Program, including: Developing and coordinating Calls for Artists/RFPs. Developing agreements/contracts. Managing public art project installations. Adding public art into City GIS and assessment systems. Monitoring and coordinating maintenance of public art. The duties listed are not all-inclusive. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Fine Arts, Art History, Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field. Masters Degree preferred. Five (5) years of experience with some supervisory experience. Equivalent combination of education and work experience.
