Job Description The Opportunity: Are you passionate about working in a world class mining facility? The Canadian Natural Albian Mine Technology group is currently looking for a Mine Technology Specialist with experience in Fleet Management Systems (FMS), Collision Avoidance Systems (CAS) and wireless network management to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to deploy and optimize various mining technologies in support of mine operations, maintenance and technical teams. By providing feedback and analysis of the various KPI and targets, you will enable the management team to make informed decisions.
- Job location: Albian Oil Sands - Fort McMurray, Alberta
- Company sponsored fly-in/fly-out and camp facilities with flights from Calgary or Edmonton
- Shift schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off, 12 hr shifts
- Safety sensitive position : Yes

Key Accountabilities: - Provide technical support for all stakeholders of the FMS/CAS and work with vendor to resolve any issues that arise
- Identify best practices to ensure optimum performance of the FMS to maximize mine equipment productivity while maintaining a consistent blend to the plant
- System administration of FMS/CAS to apply updates, security patches, user access, etc.
- Perform QA/QC to ensure data integrity of the FMS
- Develop and maintain mine production reporting system and interface with operations and maintenance groups to analyze performance
- Develop plans for optimal wireless coverage of mining areas
- Monitor and coordinate maintenance of wireless network to ensure robust performance
- Participate in safety meetings, work site observations and hazard identifications
What You Bring to the Role: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering and registered or eligible for registration with APEGA
- 5+ years of experience in a mine environment, open pit oil sands is preferred
- Experience with Fleet Management System (preferably Modular Mining Dispatch) or CAS
- Wireless network management (Wi-Fi, LTE) and Windows server management experience
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- SQL programming and SSRS report builder experience would be an asset
- Class 5 driver's license
