ESI is now hiring a Certified Physical Education Teacher in the Miami, FL area for the 2024-2025 school year.

POSITION SUMMARY:

ESI is seeking a Certified Physical Education Teacher who is responsible for planning, preparing and delivering lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning, participate in all required school and district meetings, as well as communicating with parents/guardians in relation to the needs of the students.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, or a related field.
• Valid FLDOE Teaching Certificate OR Valid Statement of Eligibility
• Prior experience teaching physical education at the elementary or secondary level is preferred.
• Previous experience in sports coaching or related field is preferred.
• Bilingual is a plus
• Ability to walk, stand, stoop, bend, push a cart, or lift during the entire shift
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, including small packages and supplies

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
• Develop and implement age-appropriate physical education lesson plans
• Teach students various sports, games, and fitness activities
• Instruct students on proper techniques, rules, and safety precautions for different physical activities
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
• Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
• Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
• Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play among students
• Organize and supervise extracurricular sports events and competitions
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate physical education into the overall school curriculum
• Maintain a safe and clean environment in the gymnasium or outdoor activity areas
• Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulations.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
• Prepare required reports on students and activities.
• Participate in department, school, district and parent meetings.
• Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Observe and evaluate student’s performance and development.
• Any other duties as assigned.
