Job Description

Summary

The Adjunct Faculty is directly responsible for the delivery of the approved curricula to the students and other matters as assigned in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of the university.

Minimum Qualifications

The Adjunct Faculty must satisfy one of the following minimum qualifications:

1. Hold a master's degree in the aviation management field and have five or more years of professional experience in aviation management. Also, must have extensive and substantial documented successful teaching experience in the area of assigned teaching responsibility, and demonstrate involvement in meaningful research and/or programs for the enhancement of pedagogical (or andragogical) skills.
2. Hold a master's degree in a business-related field, hold a professional pilot license, and have five or more years of professional experience in aviation management. Also, must have extensive and substantial documented successful teaching experience in the area of assigned teaching responsibility, and demonstrate involvement in meaningful research and/or programs for the enhancement of pedagogical (or andragogical) skills.

Essential Functions

The Adjunct Faculty performs the following essential functions:

1. Provides instruction and all aspects of teaching of approved curricula as outlined in the university's master
2. Recommends curriculum changes based on industry
3. Attends continuing education programs and seminars to maintain industry knowledge and
4. Works with program advisory committees as
5. Administers assessment instruments as requested by assessment director or academic
6. Maintains accurate attendance and academic records for
7. Participates in faculty meetings and in-service
8. Participates in National American University school functions, e., graduations, honors ceremonies, etc., as often as possible.
9. Performs other duties as

Required Work Hours

Adjunct faculty schedules may consist of both daytime and evening hours. The maximum number of contact hours an adjunct faculty may be scheduled for is 57.5 contact hours per year.

Reporting and Supervisory Responsibilities

1. The Adjunct Faculty reports to an academic officer and, in some cases, a campus

Physical Requirements

The Adjunct Faculty must be able to speak, hear, read, see, write, type, dial, reach, and bend.
