Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000

Position Summary:

Tamarind Fine Indian Dining is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Restaurant Manager to join our team in Poughkeepsie, NY. In this role, you will oversee all front-of-house operations, including hiring, staff management, event coordination, and scheduling, ensuring that our guests receive an exceptional dining experience. We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in fine dining management, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for Indian cuisine.

Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train, and manage front-of-house staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

  • Oversee daily front-of-house operations, ensuring that service runs smoothly and efficiently.

  • Coordinate and manage events and catering services, liaising with clients to meet their specific needs and expectations.

  • Develop and implement staff schedules, managing payroll, and ensuring adequate coverage for optimal service.

  • Monitor inventory and ordering of supplies, including bar inventory, to maintain appropriate stock levels.

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote the restaurant, attract new customers, and maintain relationships with existing clientele.

  • Maintain a high level of customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving any issues promptly and professionally.

  • Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure that food quality, presentation, and service standards are consistently met.

  • Stay informed of industry trends and developments, implementing new strategies to enhance the overall dining experience.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of management experience in a fine dining establishment or a similar high-end restaurant environment.

  • Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine and a passion for providing an authentic dining experience.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage staff effectively.

  • Experience with event coordination and catering services.

  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and payroll management.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Point of Sale (POS) systems.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Valid Food Handler's Card or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
