Job Description

We're seeking a Senior Cinematic Animator to join our cinematics team in creating compelling narrative experiences for AAA game development. In this role, you'll bring characters to life through both keyframe animation and motion capture, working closely with our animation supervisor and multidisciplinary teams to craft memorable story moments. Responsibilities:

  • Create high-quality character animations for narrative sequences using both your keyframe and motion capture expertise
  • Collaborate with the Animation Supervisor to ensure consistent quality and vision across all narrative content
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of animation pipelines within Unreal Engine 5
  • Process and enhance motion capture data to achieve polished, production-ready animations
  • Mentor junior animators and provide technical guidance to the team
  • Ensure animations maintain quality and performance within game engine constraints
  • Work closely with multiple disciplines to create cohesive narrative experiences

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional animation experience with at least 1 shipped AAA game title
  • Expert understanding of animation fundamentals and principles
  • Strong knowledge of character performance, body mechanics, and facial animation
  • Advanced proficiency in Maya and MotionBuilder
  • Extensive experience with Unreal Engine animation systems
  • Proficiency in animation rigging and technical problem-solving
  • Proven experience with motion capture data cleanup and enhancement
  • Demonstrated ability to create emotionally resonant character performances
  • Experience mentoring junior animators and providing constructive feedback
  • Portfolio/demo reel showcasing senior-level animation work with detailed breakdown of contributions

Salary: $100,000 - $125,000 / year. Onsite. Full time. Range depends on experience, education, and qualifications.
