Senior Technical Writer

Location: Wichita, Kansas (Onsite)

VISA: USC and GC Only

Requirement: A&P License Required

Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Technical Writer with a strong background in aviation maintenance documentation. The ideal candidate will have proven skills in project administration, organization, and tracking , along with proficiency in Microsoft Suite products.

Responsibilities:

• Create and revise maintenance documents, including maintenance manuals, structural repair manuals, non-destructive testing manuals, tool & equipment manuals, and component maintenance manuals.
• Utilize engineering database information, drawings, functional tests, and other technical sources to ensure accurate aircraft airworthiness instructions.
• Submit work packages to generate illustrations that accompany technical publication instructions.
• Conduct self and peer quality checks for accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
• Follow established documentation procedures and recommend improvements as necessary.
• Collaborate with core teams, engineers, and customer service representatives to validate and refine maintenance procedures.

Qualifications:

• Degree in an aviation-related field preferred or equivalent experience authoring technical documents.
• A&P license or military aviation maintenance experience with Technical Orders is a plus.
• Strong understanding of engineering data with the ability to research and analyze technical drawings and documents.
• Mechanical aptitude with experience in aircraft operations, systems, maintenance practices, and GAMA/ATA guidelines.
• Hands-on experience with SGML/XML, Arbortext, Adobe FrameMaker, or equivalent authoring tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional and diplomatic demeanor.
