Job Description

We are seeking a talented full-stack Senior WordPress Developer with strong programming skills. In this role, you will collaborate with clients to architect solutions, transform static designs into polished and fully functional WordPress websites, and continuously contribute to improving our code libraries, starter themes, and plugins. By driving best practices, you will help elevate the quality of Plaudits work. Additionally, you will support the teams growth by providing mentorship and constructive feedback to fellow developers.

Responsibilities

While your responsibilities will evolve, your primary focus will be developing high-quality WordPress websites, attending client meetings, and architecting solutions. As a senior member of the team, you'll provide technical guidance and mentorship, contribute to the technical direction of projects, and play a key role in maintaining and enhancing Plaudit's reputation for excellence. Your expertise will be instrumental in fostering best practices and shaping our technical approach to projects, ensuring we continue to deliver outstanding results for our clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participate in client meetings to gather requirements, architect solutions, and ensure project plans are ready for development.
  • Develop and implement high-quality WordPress websites based on project plans and designs.
  • Develop custom WordPress plugins, interactive features, and components that enhance user experience.
  • Create and maintain reusable components with top-tier code quality, like custom themes, plugins, and Gutenberg blocks.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers, conducting code reviews to maintain high standards.

Additional requirements include:

  • A portfolio that supports your experience as a senior WordPress developer.
  • Proven self-learner who quickly masters new technologies and stays current with evolving web development technology.
  • Expertise in PHP, TypeScript/JavaScript, SQL, PostCSS/SASS/CSS, HTML, and Git.
  • Experience in developing custom WordPress themes, plugins, and Gutenberg blocks.
  • Strong understanding of WordPress core, including hooks, APIs, database structure, and best practices.
  • Experience with website accessibility best practices.
  • Strong communication skills for team and client collaboration.
  • Enthusiastic about mentoring and fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Embraces AI in programming to enhance efficiency, recognizing its strengths and limitations.
  • Must reside in the Twin Cities area.
