Job Description

Overview:

An established and nationally respected structural engineering firm is seeking a dynamic Structural Engineer / Project Manager to join our expanding team. This is an opportunity to work with a collaborative and forward-thinking group of professionals on a diverse portfolio of projects across multiple sectors-including healthcare, higher education, commercial, mixed-use, historic preservation, and more.

In this leadership role, you'll not only drive technical excellence across structural design projects but also lead project management activities, nurture client relationships, and mentor junior engineers. You'll work in a supportive environment that values innovation, professional growth, and technical depth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the structural design process for a wide range of new and existing buildings.

  • Manage projects from concept through construction, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule adherence.

  • Serve as the primary client liaison, fostering strong relationships and repeat business.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and other consultants.

  • Oversee and mentor a team of junior engineers and EITs, providing guidance and development opportunities.

  • Perform design reviews, quality control, and technical oversight on all phases of projects.

  • Participate in proposal development and project scoping.

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

  • PE license required (with ability to obtain in other states as needed).

  • Approximately 10 years of experience in structural engineering and project management.

  • Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience with steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structural systems.

  • Proficiency with structural design software (RAM, RISA, ETABS, etc.) and BIM (Revit).

  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

  • Commitment to mentoring and developing future engineering talent.

Why Join?

  • Work in a collaborative, low-ego environment where engineers are empowered to lead.

  • Access to varied project types and scales with high design quality and technical challenges.

  • Competitive compensation and benefits.

  • Flexible work arrangements to support work-life balance.
