Job Description

This position is On-Site based in Hamilton, OH, and the person must live within a reasonable commute distance. We are seeking to add Multiples Shift Dispatchers to its operation.

We are seeking a Transportation  Dispatcher with experience using  TMS systems to operate within our transportation and logistics operations. The ideal candidate will operate and optimize daily dispatch activities, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispatch Operations:  Coordinate and oversee day-to-day dispatch activities, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of goods.
  • TMW Software Utilization: Use TMW software to schedule, route, and optimize deliveries, ensuring maximum efficiency and cost savings.
  • Driver & Vehicle Assignment: Assign drivers and vehicles to specific jobs, ensuring appropriate resources are allocated based on capacity and customer requirements.
  • Route Optimization: Work with the planning team to create and optimize delivery routes, reducing fuel consumption and improving delivery time.
  • Real-Time Monitoring: Track deliveries and vehicles in real-time, managing issues as they arise and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, including Hours of Service (HOS) for drivers.
  • Customer Communication: Keep customers informed about delivery statuses, providing updates and addressing concerns as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze data to improve dispatch processes, reduce costs, and optimize resource utilization.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a dispatch role within the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Software Knowledge: Proficiency in TMW Software or similar transportation management software. Proficient with MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with customers, drivers, and team members effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to handle issues proactively.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of Regulations: Familiarity with transportation regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) and safety protocols.
  • Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Fleet Dispatcher Experience: Experience with fleet management and maintenance schedules.
  • Route Optimization: Knowledge of routing tools and optimization strategies.
