Job Description

Creative Director

Location: Nashville, TN

Status: Full-Time

Compensation: Competitive salary + bonus, full benefits, unlimited PTO, and a seat at one of the coolest campfires in food

Our Mission

Kindling exists to spark the fire within—fueling everyday adventurers with snacks that are packed with protein and full of flavor. We’re here to prove that better-for-you doesn’t have to mean boring. And we’re building more than a brand—we’re building a lifestyle, a community, and a movement.

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to own the entire creative vision of a brand from the early stages and build what we believe will be the next big name in snacking.

As Creative Director , you’ll be the visual voice and visionary spark behind everything we create—from packaging to photo shoots, digital campaigns to trade show booths. You’ll lead the charge on how our brand shows up in the world, working hand-in-hand with our founders to shape the future of Kindling.

You’ll lead our internal creatives and own the full ecosystem of creative contractors and agencies. If you geek out over brand storytelling, obsess over packaging that makes people actually stop in their tracks, and want to build something people remember—you’re in the right place.

Key Objectives
  • Build a Brand That Burns Bright
  • Craft a consistent, magnetic, and rebellious visual identity across every channel that makes Kindling instantly recognizable—and impossible to ignore.
  • Create Category-Defining Work
  • From ideation through execution, develop creative that doesn’t just sell snacks—it builds a culture. Inspire our audience, spark curiosity, and make people feel something.
  • Lead With Heart, Strategy, and Taste
  • Balance bold creativity with data and gut instinct. Deliver work that’s equal parts art and impact.

What You’ll Do
  • Creative Strategy & Vision
  • Own the creative direction for the brand across every consumer and trade touchpoint. Co-develop seasonal and annual creative campaigns with the founders and bring them to life through bold ideas and killer execution.
  • Team Leadership
  • Mentor and lead a team of internal and external creatives to keep everything aligned and exceptional eventually growing out a full in-house creative team.
  • Packaging & Product Storytelling
  • Oversee the look and feel of all packaging, innovation concepts, and naming—helping us build craveable, scroll-stopping new products.
  • Brand Identity & Design Systems
  • Evolve and maintain our brand guidelines, ensuring visual consistency from web to swag to shelf.
  • Website & Digital Experience
  • Own the creative UX and design of our site to keep it fresh, intuitive, and unmistakably Kindling.
  • Campaign & Content Development
  • Collaborate with marketing to shape the big ideas behind social, influencer, and retail campaigns. Help direct video shoots, photo sessions, and content drops that feel more like a vibe than a promotion.
  • Budget & Resource Management
  • Lead quarterly creative planning and budgeting for the entire creative ecosystem. Be scrappy when it counts, and scale when it matters.

The Culture We’re Building

We’re not just stacking resumes—we’re gathering the kind of people you’d want around a campfire. Curious minds. Brave creatives. Whole humans.

The Heartbeat – How we show up
  • Be a Steady Flame – Transparent, consistent, and always lit with integrity.
  • Invite Others to the Campfire – Every voice matters. Roast marshmallows, not ideas.
  • Kindle Your Passions – Burnout isn’t a badge of honor. We value balance, walks in the woods, and midday creative breakthroughs.
The Output – What we expect
  • Defend Our Den – Care about the craft. Own your wins and your misses.
  • Seek Higher Ground – Challenge assumptions. Expand your view. Ask why (then why again).
  • Take Swift Action – Light the match. Follow the spark. Adjust as you go.

Perks of the Gig
  • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Unlimited PTO + generous holidays
  • Competitive parental leave (family-first, always)
  • Tons of snacks, real talk, and laughter
  • A career you’ll be proud of and a team that feels like family

Ready to Build Something That Matters?

Let’s make the snack aisle (and beyond) way more fun. If you’re a creative leader who dreams big, moves fast, and believes branding is more than pixels—it’s magic—then come help us ignite the future.
