About the Role:

As the HSEC Project Lead you will support the site on Health, environmental, projects and regulatory aspects. Support the development, implementation, and documentation of HSEC and site management systems, and help to effectively assess and mitigate risks.

Ensure ongoing compliance with Corporate and jurisdictional requirements and ensuring adherence by anyone on-site.

What Your Typical Week Will Look Like:

You will:

  • Lead the implementation of HSEC and Risk-related projects and initiatives to meet Company’s specific requirements
  • Maintain the environmental data in the enmvironmental management system and assist with regulatory reporting requirements
  • Perform inspections on site infrastructure, including water management facilities (diversion channel, collection systems and water dams) and the tailings management facility including environmental sampling of water as needed (surface and groundwater)
  • Maintain site documents; such as Environmental, Health, and Safety-related documents, management plans, and site Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Support the operation of the water treatment plant and water mangement systems when needed
  • Oversee projects related to operations, maintenance, and surveillance
  • Participate in stakeholder engagement including locally affected residents, regulatory agencies and join venture partner representatives.

What You Bring:

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Sciences or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Five to eight years of relevant industry experience with sound general knowledge of mining operations/closure or similar industry.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, process control, mine reclamation and/or tailings facilities considered an asset;
  • Interest in learning industrial operations, especially water management, pumping and treatment, being a strong asset.
  • Ability to work safely at a remote site including outdoors in all seasons.
  • Ability to be scheduled on-call 12-months of the year.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage a team.
  • Computer skills with Word, Excel and functional operational systems.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Excellent organizational, planning and scheduling skills.
